The Designer
Zekaryas Solomon was born in Eritrea. He spent his early years in the Republic of Sudan, and grew up in Germany.
He studied Architecture, Art and Design in Wuppertal, graduating in 2005 with a degree in Architecture. He spent four years working as an Assistant Architect whilst developing a passionate interest in fashion design.
In 2009, he decided to follow his dream. He attended the London College of Fashion, where he designed a menswear collection for his final project. He graduated in 2010 with a postgraduate degree in Pattern Design & Garment Technology.
The Label
Zekaryas Solomon is a high concept fashion label comprising of ready-to-wear and individual bespoke tailored garments for men and for women. Zekaryas Solomon was originally trained as an architect, and this is evident in the clean lines and impeccable structure of his designs. He draws his inspiration from his Eritrean heritage, re-interpreting traditional costumes with a futuristic, functional edge.
Every piece is created in his home studio in London. His work is characterized by simplicity, originality, and above all, versatility. A dress is never just a dress, but can be worn in a number of ways: twisted, wrapped, or flipped. Each garment becomes unique
